Silver is a free lance photographer, living and working in Paris.
He started his career as a fashion photographer.
He now focuses on portraits in black and white (writers, painters, filmmakers, actors, musicians as well as personal assignments), reporting (in Paris, Venice, Spain, Senegal, Cuba, India, Central Europe), various thematic series.

The story behind this exhibition : "A few weeks ago, I was in the Paris Metro when my mobile rang. It was Jim Haynes " Hi Silver, are you free next Monday evening, I have a job for you? ". I said yes and called back a short while later to know exactly what type of photos he was looking for. Jim explained that a film promoting After Eight chocolates was to be shot at his house on the occasion of one of his famous Sunday night dinners. My only job was to be present, well-dressed, eat, drink and chat around with the other guests : it is the first time in my life that I was offered such a job !!!
The shoot took place in an apartment redecorated with most of Jim's furniture and several personal belongings. I did what I had been asked to do, playing my part as an extra. As I was carrying a small camera with me, I started taking some photos intended for my personal records, taking small portraits of the attendees. After all, I am a photographer…
As I was concentrating on the crew and the technical aspects of the shoot, Jim asked me to make a report of the event in order to have a memory of the whole.
